I'm not sure if it's funny or sad. I run into this problem far more often then I should.

I guess it's really not that funny.

IT had been a while, Ive just been watching that reminder go up little by little. Lately life has been good, from security domination to daunting level 3 sweeps Ive been getting around.

I got pulled over for crossing the white turning lane line on 80 past the 7 eleven going towards kemptown. IT was stupid, he just wanted to search my car. Michele got pulled over the next day by the same cop while I Was in the front seat. Seems to happen a lot. Her break lights were dimming, another great reason to pull someone over. AND he called me a knucklehead. Which I think was just uncalled for.

Oh yeah, I got a tattoo for anyone who doesnt know.

So someone hit my car on west patrick street. No, not a car someone hit my passenger side mirror (Which was on the side with the sidewalk when I parked. Judging by the hit it was probably a bat. WTF.

Hail satan. [11 Nov 2007|09:11am]
It's been a while.

Working full time, is fairly similar to school. Starts a little earlier, gets out a little later and less breaks in between, but its not bad.

Recently got moved up to a full time position, which warrants a 2.00$ raise, optional benefits, and of course discounts.

My big grey dog silk, (The brownie dog) Isnt looking so well off at the moment. So itchy he scratches himself until hes bald and bleeding. Hardley how a dog should look.

Gonna be getting back to guitar lessons fairly soon. I need to suck less, haha.

Michele, next time. I'll think of something. HAha not-quiznos related.

Oh no, its staff!

Life is different as of late. Pretty decent Id say. Working full time aint so bad. Some of the people there are really interesting, some are quite odd. One girl wheres a full on colonial dress every day. Odd, eh?

Chris and I are writing quite an epic song, Its hardley done, but expect great things. Clash of the legions is its title. Its lyrics will be about how chris and I defeat an army.

I have my green car now, its pretty sweet. 10 band eq, if it means anything to you. Might make the tape player worth keeping.

I still like my livejournal picture.

Everythings quiet, not enough seems to be happening. Im sure Ill wish for it later, but it always works that way. I got my license, and am working on a car. I just bought a sitar/guitar. 6 guitar strings 13 drone strings. Im excited. That about sums it up in the life of Devon Corbliss.

Life has been ridiculous, working school hours and longer is kind of weird. It's interesting though, the people you meet at a warehouse. I wish I could keep in contact with people, I try pretty hard but it rarely seems to work.

Im really not sure what else needs to be said.

I feel less wanted lately, I guess. Hard to place.

Im not so sure how I earned this reputation I seem to have.

Break on through to the other side! [04 Sep 2007|10:09am]
Oh, what weekend.

Dan, Corey, and I attended an Island party Saturday night in Harrisburg PA. It was really more of a rave, just to clarify things. So, we get there and find the island. A pontoon boat is ferrying attendees back and forth at an alarmingly slow rate, so we crack and pay someone with a speed boat 5 bucks a person to get us over there. We have to walk through about 15 yards of water to get there. And Dan was the only person who took his shoes off.

So suffice to say, Corey and I had some cold feet.

Anyway, the boats run until 10 at night, and start again at 6 in the morning. I had to work at 9, no problem right?

So here we are, 8:30 and excited. We can already hear the inescapable beat of the music. Glow sticks and Corey's duck light are way through a dark foreboding path. We find the entrance, flash are Id's and pay are entrance fee. And there we learn that if you can bring back 5 recyclables we can get a free water. This came very much in handy later.

Corey and Dan hung out with there E-asy friend right away. I however opted for Lucy myself, dont really go the other way.

Uhh, highlights include: Santa clause was there, along with the easter bunny.
This guy had glowstick crutches.
I saw the happiest kid ever, he was hugging an stuffed alligator and swaying on the dance floor like the most content 3 year old you've ever seen for like 2 hours.
This guy had a glow ribbon thing. TRUST ME it was sweet.
Made a lot of good comparisons.
Raft building montage.

Anyway, though the big news. Around 4:45am or so the music stopped. Everyone knew that wasn't supposed to happen. And then Someone walks through and yells POLICE! And let me tell you, You will never see ravers move as fast and as efficiently as they did here. The whole island down to the person, jumped in there respective tents. we didn't have tents however. So Dan starts freaking out a bit. Saying we should get in somebodys tent? I didnt quite get that myself, considering if the cops came, were fucked. Were on an island, where would we go. And also, why would it help if we were in a tent?

Corey and I go to investigate the disturbance. And we talk to some of the people running the party. they explain its not the cops, its a search and rescue team, some kid named Christian was missing. A bit of a relief. By this time its about 5:15 so Corey and I go to check on the lines to get off the island. theres about 6-8 people. They inform us the guy driving th eboat said "Its to dark now, Im going to go sleep for an hour. So we went back and grabbed Dan. Hung around for a bit longer and got to the line at 6:20 with no sign of the boat.

...3 hours later...Already late to work, and its my last day at the OLC.

WE get informed the boats are going to be shut down for an hour, since they found the DEAD BODY of Christian in the Susquehanna river. Wonderful, someone died. So we sit at the same spot doing that thing. We see a toddler leg just kind of "standing" there. And many a joke comes out of that. Apparently it was there last year too. This is where we discuss the raft montage, which went as follows.

first everybody stands up and gets in a circle to see Corey drawing out plans in the dirt with a stick. The diagram is squareish and he puts a few X's in the corners.
Cut to next scene, everyone is collecting suitable wood in a line. Everyones working together, someone trips and a stranger helps them up. Showing are surreal teamwork at this time of crisis. Then the the next scene is the very corner of the raft and someones hands (preferably someone black so we show how diverse we are) tying a knot around some wood. Then we need a shot of the finished raft and all of us standing over it with a real exaggerated High five, followed by us sailing away.

However this wasted about 5 minutes of time, so we were there until about 11:50.

And then when we get to the shore the press tries to ask us questions, and we arent having any of that.

So I get to work 6 hours late, tired as shit.

The end.

Oh, sickness.

This bronchial thing happens to me once or twice a year. I get incredibly congested, feel like I'm breathing through a straw all the time, and cough like I got cancer. Walking up a hill can make me tired enough to want to sit down.

My cousin(esq) Brendon recently hung himself, fyi. Funeral/viewing tomorrow. These things are always so sad. Never been to an open casket before though, should be weird. Didnt think they'd do it since he hung himself. Weird.

I enjoy guessing, making little assumptions based on clues you can pick up through any number of ways. But you can only really base so much off of an assumption. Coincidences are not as uncommon as we believe.

Logical barriers are the hardest obstacles to best.

I wonder if I am as forgetful as all of my friends, hahaha.

Me too, oh well.

I feel like people just humor me, for the sake of me. [20 Jul 2007|02:55pm]
I find I'm not as trusting as I use to be. Not that I ever was very trusting. I guess Ive always preferred relying on myself. Not even because I am significantly more reliable, I just doubt anyone elses motivation is high enough to make it worth while.

I can only imagine the lengths someone must go to truly believe someone with out second guessing. A terrible thing I can imagine, if gone astray, but finding someone who you can trust seems important in a lot of situations.

But I hate blaming people, I always feel like theres more to the story that I know, and it probably makes a difference. Rare is it when someone actually meant it in the worst way that we ourselves come up with.

Hubris? Hardley. [09 Jul 2007|10:04am]
People are surprising aren't they? It's hard to tell. I mean, how often have you been completely wrong about someone? I consider myself a pretty good person reader as a whole. Haha you may disagree with me, but we all like to think were correct anyway, right? I have my little errors and flaws in my systems and methods, but I think it gets the job done. But Ive seen some people come from way left field.

But, all that aside I must say this summer has been pretty good. There are still some people I am going to have to see at some point, but its hardly over yet.

Ever wonder if people truly care or if they just want to look like they do?

Oh, morals. What will you have of me next?

Confidence is a funny thing, it ebbs and flows entirely to much for me. But appearance is half the battle, is it not?

This may be the least structured entry I have made to date.

Back from senior week! Pretty sweet time, a lot of fun times came out of it. Hung out with a lot of unexpected people. Saw some crazy things, thought some crazy things. Got sling shotted. I'm pretty certain I got blown off fairly hardcore twice. Hard to say though, I cant comprehend it. Haha and it was senior week its pretty hard to remember what was said.

Came back and had to go directly to my gradation party, family and all woo!

Im pretty certain Im buying a car too! a 1978 bright yellow Lincoln Continental. Haha with historic plates and a clock with hands.

Ask me some other time for more specific stories, I try not to post illegal things online. Although some of them I should probably keep to myself for more then just my sake.
